Chief David Onuoha Ogba
The efforts of former Abia governor Chief Orji Uzor to swell the ranks of All Progressives Congress (APC) has continued to yield fruits as another chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the state Chief David Onuoha Ogba (aka Bourdex) has dumped his party to join the former governor in the APC.
According to our reporter, Ogba left for the APC so soon after last week’s defection by Chief Damian Ozurumba, another chieftain and close confidant of defeated All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) 2015 governorship candidate Dr Alex Otti. Chief Ogba had contested for the Aba North senatorial seat under the APGA ticket and lost.
UnionMail gathered that the defecting politicians are complaining they are no longer satisfied with the way and manner their governorship candidate is demonstrating poor leadership to the party since their loss of the 2015 governorship election. In the case of Chief Ogba, his supporters had been blaming Dr. Otti for his defeat in the senatorial polls, alleging that Dr. Otti secretly asked party faithful to vote PDP in the senatorial race.
A report on the internal problems of APGA in Abia posited that APGA legislators in the state house of assembly and party chieftains will be joing PDP or APC next month.
However, the decampment of Chief Ogba to APC has been described as a good omen for the PDP. According to the PDP Leader in Abiriba and Abia North, Chief Mba Ukariwo, her constituents can never follow any top politician to the APC.
Hear her; “Even at gun point our people will never vote for APC and with APGA weakened further Governor Ikpeazu will lead PDP to a landslide victory in 2019”.
