Designer Rikaotobyme replied to an accusation which was recently made to her person regarding some bride’s wedding dress that was used for Mercy Aigbe birthday shoot (Read through and discover missing parts)
On Fashion designer whose name we identified as rikaotobyme replied to an accusation which was made on her person recently regarding the dress that was used in a birthday photo shoot by Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe.
On 1st of december 2018, an Instagram user @rettypety accused the designer of styling the actress with her wedding dress.
She had shared screenshots of her chat with the designer, and explained how she provided the material for the outfit and gave the idea for how she wanted the dress to look, only for the designer to disappoint her on her wedding day.
She wrote:
This was too bad on the 29th of December which happen to be my wedding day, a greedy designer decided to ruin my big day. I cried all day non stop. I bought this lovely fabric from @bishani_bridalfbrics and asked her to deliver to this designer @rikaotobyme after I had completed the style and price to @rikaotobyme. I made a 50% payment to her as soon as the fabric got to her. I told her it is my wedding reception dress and she assured me it would be ready on the 26th. On that 26th I chatted her up yo ask for my dress she replied saying it was ready as you can see on the chat. She also said she would send a pics, eventually she sent a video the next day which was on 27th as you can also see on the chat above. I sent the balance 50% to her on 28th when I had seen the dress and was satisfied, she couldn't send it that day cos all flights coming to Benin was cancelled. So we were now left with 29th being a day to my wedding. I called her by 6am that day and she told me that the delivery guy has gone to a park to send my dress and she would send the waybill detail (sending detail) across shortly. I waited till 9am still no words from her. I started calling to ask for the waybill details and she want taking my calls. At times she even cut the calls. I sent several messages no response. At 1pm I started crying cos the situation got beyond my control. My hubby, friends and family also requested for the number and started calling her but she obviously decided not to take any calls again Until 4pm when I was drained in tears she then called and was appologising that she didn't know what to say to me and that was why she refused taking calls. She continued saying that the delivery guy she sent to deliver my dress is no where to be found. When she heard I was crying she then decided to give me one of her old dresses for me to use for the day. I had no choice cos I was desperate and so I accepted it. I got the dress on my wedding morning. I went to IG yesterday only to see realmercyaigbe wearing my dress with the same fabric and she tagged some designer @rikaotobyme. The question here is
" how much fabric did realmercyaigbe pay her to disappoint a bride on her wedding day?
Another question is "what what will @rikaotobyme has to say about this accusation?

Our attention has been drawn to the ongoing chaos surrounding a dress and one of our esteemed clients on Instagram and possibly on other blogs and social media sites. . . .
We would have preferred if this matter was addressed directly to us for a quick resolution and to avoid the media frenzy, but unfortunately it wasn’t.
. . .
We hold our clients dearly and offer our services on first come first served bases with no iota of discrimination or insinuation of such.
. . .
We admit that a dispatch error occurred in the delivery of a dress to Miss Lawrentta, who was set to get married on the 30th December, 2017 and the pick up of another dress on behalf of actress, Mercy Aigbe. . . .
Please note that both dresses were of the same style, the same colour (red) and almost the same measurement.
. . .
On realising the error on dispatch, we quickly tried to rectify the mix up. But it was too late as the wrong dress was already on its way to Edo state for the bride to be.
. . .
We contacted the bride and explained we had an issue and asked if she would be comfortable with another dress, of same kind (which was the one meant for Mercy Aigbe), the bride agreed, so we allowed the dress to be delivered as time to recall dispatch was short in relation to the time of the wedding.
. . .
We have already apologised to Miss Lawrentta, but once again use the public fora to tender an unreserved apology to her and by extension to Mercy Aigbe who shouldnt have been dragged into this.
. . .
We assure all our clients, past and future that our resolve to deliver top notch designs to clients within the country and beyond will not be compromised and the error that led to this unhappy situation has since been corrected. Thank you.
The question is:
"Is the story told by @rikaotobyme completely true?
How did the find the delivery guy who was confirmed by @rettyrety to be missing?
Are the both dresses of the same material? Why should they be mixed together?
Did the the dress meant for mercy aigbe get to mrs lawrentta as @rikaotobyme said? If yes why did you have to send your old dress to her? Why didn't you tell her to use the dress for her wedding so that mercy aigbe will use here's since the error had already been done?
According to Mrs lawrentta, @rikaotobyme said after several calls and messages were sent without any answer to her line that the delivery guy was no where to be found.
So is the problem from the delivery guy or the company?
Did you try to rectify the error before or after sending her your old dress?
You contacted the bride before aigbe wore the dress for a photo shoot so when did you send the bride's dress to mercy aigbe? Was it the same time?
Pls tell us.
