There are plenty foods that were present during the time of our fathers fathers and our mothers mothers mother. These foods are symbols of our cultures and they are examples of culture die hard. Our mothers used these foods to feed there children especially during seasons of hardship and poverty. The tale of African foods I say is old. These foods I will say are still in this our present days and will still remain even to the days of our 4-5th generations. Garri is an African food that is taken either alone or with oil, fish, pepper, coconuts, sugar and groundnuts etc. They were taken before because of poverty but now even after eating, children and students still request and crave for them. It is now the main food in Nigeria especially within boarding students and african homes etc. This Garri is season less. It stays from season to season. And are products of our cassava planted and harvested from our different farms. Aku and nchichi comes with season. Nchichi are black small fruits that has black back and a sweet inside which is being licked by both children and adults while Aku are insects that comes doing the June or August break. They are gotten by placing a big filled bucket of water on the floor with a lamp or electric bulb on top for the insects to perch on and probably fall into the buckets of water for us to retrieve in the morning, fry and eat or sell to common people to eat. 🌽 are products of our farms and are either roasted, fried or boiled and are used to feed our selves and our children.
